Note this is for estimation purposes only. Final quantities and pricing may vary based on material and project specifics.
Easiest way: run your tape measure along the ground, following the slope. That measurement already includes the extra surface — enter it above like normal, no math needed.
Only know the flat (level) distance — like from a plan or measuring across the top? Enter it with the rise and we'll find the true slope length for you:
Standard depths: 2–3" for mulch dressing · 4–6" for new mulch beds · 4–6" for loam/topsoil · 4" for stone/gravel paths · 6–12" for fill
Overage is optional. Our estimates are calculated to cover your exact square footage at the depth entered. If you'd like a buffer for spillage or uneven ground, add a small percentage above — typically 5–10% for mulch and soil, less for stone.
